Our History

Started on May 12, 1996, the Weekly Freebie Compilation began as a very simple newsletter created by founding editor Innate Mak. Every week, Mak would find the best free stuff on the web, compile a list, and foward it to his friends and family. Soon, his friend's friends asked to receive the list, and then their friends asked, and before long, Mak had too many e-mail addresses to maintain such an informal mailing list. He decided to convert the newsletter into a website version, and thus, The Weekly Freebie Compilation was born.

Today, the compilation is read by over 80,000 people a week.

October. 2005

After a few years of neglect in the design department, Weekly Freebie is relaunched with a improved look and feel that will hopefully mark a new era of increased readership and stuff like that. Also a new editorial voice was added to the mix. Loyal readers should be able to detect a slight change in tone.
