Part Seven.28 - Childhood 2.0 new and improved

Tinkering with chilhood memories has always been a tricky proposition, I'm refering to the latest reincarnation of an afternoon staple from my childhood, "Transformers ". Now there are a few things that you understand that will be changed for modern times, like the replacement of borrowed Japanese animation with the latest in computer generated robots, but BumbleBee was a Bug, not a Camaro, though the idea of two kids saving the world in a Beetle probably requires the suspension of too much disbelief. And Optimus Prime in a Pimp My ride-style paint job - that's the equivalent of Darth Vader racing go-carts (ummmm pod racers). The Transformers were about the search for energy and of course selling toys, not Hummers and Solstices. If you are going to strip mine my childhood, please get the details correct (Megatron turns into a gun, Jazz is a Porshe and Star Scream has to try to take over the Decepticons at least once).
