Part eight.3 - Brother can you spare $10 billion?

Merrill Lynch just lost $9.8 Billion dollars last quarter. Citicorp lost a similar amount. Now if you lend money to people who might not be able to pay it back (sub-prime), without proper underwriting standards, it just might not be paid back. That's just common sense, that shouldn't be too much to expect from those in charge of trillions of dollars in assets, should it?. Then again, their people are paid to make money today, without much regard for who's left holding the bag in the end.
